Flooring installation & refinishing

Hardwood, laminate, LVT and LVP, sheet vinyl and carpet — plus sanding, staining and refinishing the floors that are already down.

What we install

New floors, and old ones brought back

Flooring is in the name, and it is still a large part of what we do. Some of it is a straight install over a clean subfloor. A lot of it is not — it is an old house in the valley with a floor that has moved, and the work starts with getting that flat and sound before anything new goes down.

If your hardwood is scratched, cupped or just tired, refinishing is usually cheaper than replacing it. We will tell you honestly which one your floor needs.

Refinishing

Before you replace a hardwood floor

A solid hardwood floor can usually be sanded back and refinished several times over its life. If yours has the thickness left, that is the cheaper and better answer.

01

Check what is left

How much wear layer remains decides whether refinishing is an option at all. We look before we quote it.

02

Sand it flat

Coarse through fine, edges and corners included. Skipping grits is what leaves the swirl marks you see under a finish.

03

Stain and seal

Color sampled on your actual floor first — species and age change how a stain pulls, so a small sample does not tell you much.

Commercial

Commercial floors too

We take commercial work as well as residential — restaurants, bars and light commercial spaces where the floor has to take a great deal more traffic than a house ever will.

Estimates for commercial jobs are free, same as residential. Call and we will come and look at the space.
